Did you check out our pie irons?

We carry 4 different types of pie irons. The best seller is all cast iron, crimps the bread around the edges and the handles are not screwed in they are riveted together. The next iron is cast aluminum. Has all the features of the cast iron except it isnt as heavy. The third iron we carry is all aluminum and is round. We call this the pudgy iron. It does not crimp the edges of your bread. The last iron is really cool.  Its a hotdog iron. Makes 2 hotdogs, sausages, corndogs or whatever you can think of.

All irons are made locally in the U.S.A.

A few tips for on how to take care of your pie iron and they will last a lifetime.

  • Don't leave you pie iron in the fire to long.
  • Don't wash your pie irons with soap and water or you will make the bread stick everytime.
  • Treat your pie iron like an iron skillet.
  • Butter your bread, bun, tortilla, or pita every time.
  • Its best to spray your iron with Pam every other pie.
  • If you have a hole in your bread or bun, do not use it.
  • If filling spills onto your iron wipe out with wax paper or a dry papertowel immediately.
  • If you take care of your iron, it can last a lifetime.

If you can't make it here to purchase an iron, check us out on ebay. Our user name is lottastuff_pa

Recipes:

Breakfast McCampin

Butter your bread, add 1 slice cheese, crumbled (cooked) sausage, scrambled (cooked) eggs. Put in iron over fire.

You can subsitute sausage with: steak left over from the night before, ham, or veggies. Make sure all items are cooked before making this sandwich.

Make up your items before you leave for camping and it will be an easy breakfast.

Fruity Pies

Add a few spoonsful of your favorite pie filling along with marshmallow creme or a few mini marshmallows.

Hamburger ala Pudgie

Mix up fresh mushrooms, cheese, bbq sauce, and onions. Make 2 thin hamburg patties and in between the patties add a small amount of the mixture. Squeeze the patty edges together. Use the pudgy iron to cook your hamburgs. When done, take out hamburg, wipe out iron and add a buttered bun or bread with your hamburger and toast.

Toasted Cheesey Hotdogs

Butter 2 buns, pick out some of the bread inside the bun. Add your hot dog, cheese slice, onions, chili or whatever you like on your hotdog. Put in the hotdog iron and place over fire. Once done dip in your favorite ketchup, relish, or desired topping. Adding a few crumbles of cooked bacon is also yummy.

Hotdog Wrap

Use leftover pancakes from yesterday morning. Butter 2 pancakes on 1 side, place 1 pancake in hot dog iron lay your hotdogs on pancake and place the other pancake on top. Place over fire.  You can also wrap the hotdogs is you prefer.
